PRINCETON — The Princeton Senior High School football team is looking forward to finishing the season strong in the season finale Friday night.
The Tigers are coming off a loss to Greenbrier East High School and are looking forward to being able to close out the season strong with one more opportunity as they take on Nicholas County High School next.
“We are just trying to finish up strong,” coach Chris Pedigo said. ‘We finished strong in the second half of last game, so we just have to clean up those mistakes and look to move forward.”
Princeton has already surpassed its win total from last season. they can possible double that if they close out with a win against Nicholas County. Pedigo talked about finishing the season strong so that the Tigers can head into its offseason with some momentum.
“We have a great group right here and we feel like a win this week will do everybody well,” Pedigo said. “A goal of ours this offseason will be to hit the weight room hard. We feel like if we have a good offseason in the weight room that will help us finish games.”
Even though Princeton doesn’t have anything to play for Pedigo doesn’t believe the team will jus look to get the game over with. He believes the team will go out and play hard and will continue to get to at least try to finish out the season strong.
“We have had some good practices the last month or so,” Pedigo said. “We have had some high energy out on the field. The kids are moving around well and I don’t get the sense at all that they want to just get the game out the way. we have kept a next man up mentality all season and we will continue to show that.”
Princeton will take on Nicholas County on the road Friday at 7 p.m.
