PRINCETON — The Princeton Senior High School baseball team got back in the win column last Saturday with back to back wins against Greenbrier West High School and PikeView High School
The Tigers used a strong team performance at the plate to push their way to another win. Kamran Cantrell and Zach Powell handled pitching duties for the Tigers with Cantrell getting the win on the mound.
The Tigers scored 15 runs on 12 hits which included a team high three hits from Joe Barton and Powell. Barton went 3-3 with four RBIs and Powell went 3-3 with two runs and a RBI. Barton and Powell added a double.
It was a solid win for the Tigers who were in the midst of a four game losing streak. That same Saturday Princeton took on rival PikeView High School and shut them out with a 5-0 win. It was a strong day overall for Princeton who needed some momentum heading into the end of the regular season and the start of playoff time.
In the matchup against PikeView Powell handled pitching duties and struck out 13. Six different Tigers had hits. Sectionals start next week Princeton.
