PRINCETON —The Princeton Senior High School wrestling team is hoping to build on last season.

Last winter the Princeton wrestling team had a season to remember. They sent five wrestlers to the state tournament last season and also had an alternate. They return most of the team from last season and they are looking to build on that going forward.

“We have a strong group of 19 kids this year,” coach Jeff Bowman said. “With the experience most of these guys have been able to get it has helped them come into this season more prepared and more ready.”

Bowman mentioned that he felt like his group knew what they needed to work on. Its all about repetition and Bowman felt like rather than his group changing their approach all around they just needed to continue to build on what they had already done.

“Wrestling is all about repetition,” Bowman said. “Just keeping practicing and getting better. We want to be better than we were last season we know what we are and what we need to be if we want to continue being successful.”

Returning this season for Princeton Kyle Neal and Ali Abdelwahed who are the two team captains for this season. returning along them are Eli Padgett and Montana Meachum and Trace Hatfield.

“The whole team is hoping to go beyond what they did last season,” Bowman said. “This team is not satisfied at all and that’s a great thing.”

Princeton competes in some strong tournaments before and during the holiday break. They also will host a tri-match Dec. 19 that will feature five other teams which Bowman believes will focus on a night of great wrestling.
