BRIDGEPORT – The Mountain East Conference recently announced the field for the MEC Softball Tournament that gets underway this afternoon at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va.

Concord has drawn Frostburg State for its opening round game in the double-elimination format. CU meets the Bobcats Noon today as the number three seed in the MEC South Division, finishing with a record of 19-13 in the conference.

The Mountain Lions’ second opponent—depending on outcome—with be either West Virginia State or Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m.

West Liberty, the defending tournament champions, is the North Division champion and is one of two No. 1 seeds. West Virginia State, the South Division champion, is the other No. 1 seed.

Frostburg State, Fairmont State and Notre Dame also qualified for the postseason out of the North Division. Charleston, Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan advanced to the tournament out of the South Division
