PRINCETON — Princeton Senior High School will have senior DJ Bailey represent them at the golf state tournament this season.

The PSHS golf team is coming off of one its strongest seasons this year. they recently were playing in the playoffs where they were a few cuts short of the whole team making it to the state tournament however Bailey is set and ready to go after a strong postseason run.

“DJ has played well all year long, but he has really been playing good down the stretch,” coach Opie McKinney said. “His game has come along and he has been playing well in all aspects of his game right now. His putting has come a long way.”

At the state tournament all qualifiers are good golfers. However, all through practice this week McKinney has encouraged Bailey not to change anything he had previously been doing. He believes that he has a legitimate chance of winning. Bailey also feels good about where he is right now and how he has been playing

“I feel like my game is about the best it’s been all year and for all the four years I have been playing here,” Bailey said. “My game feels good. I know when I’m out there I need to slow it down and think and through and everything will work itself out.”

Bailey reiterated how McKinney felt about his chances he too believes that if he continues playing like he has he will have a good chance to win it all. Athletes want to be performing their best at postseason time and Bailey is at that point right now.
