PRINCETON — The Princeton Rotary Club is set to hold the third annual Mardi Bras for a Cause.
On February 25 at the Chuck Mathena Center, from 5 to 7 p.m., guests are welcome to attend the social event that focused on helping women in need. For two years the rotary club has collected items for females affected by domestic abuse and violence by way of the Mardi Bras for a Cause.
According to the club, women fleeing violent situations are often left without necessary items. These items include undergarments, personal care items, hygiene items and more.
Guests are asked to bring donations of these items, or monetary donations, to aid women and girls that are homeless or staying in shelters. Those who wish to donate, but are unable to attend the social event, can bring donations items to the Chuck Mathena Center.
At the event, guests have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed social atmosphere with refreshments and music. For those interested in adult beverages a cash bar will be available.
According to the Rotary Club, proceeds after expenses will be donated to Stop Abusive Family Environments (SAFE). According to SAFE's website, SAFE is a nonprofit organization that strives to assist those affected by domestic violence.
