PRINCETON- Mercer County School Board members elected Greg Prudich as their new president Monday, at an early morning meeting in the MCTECH Seminar Center.
Prudich, along with Gene Bailey and new board member Ted Gillespie, were sworn in for their new two year terms by Judge Derek Swope.
“I am looking forward to working with the new board members. We have some intelligent and capable people, and we can improve the county system and make it better for everyone involved,” said Prudich.
Gene Bailey was elected by the Board to serve as Vice-president for the next two years. Gillespie was the only new board member sworn in.
“I have spent my life in education, so this is a natural thing,” said Gillespie. He said he was interested in student outcomes, over other aspects of the job.
“You can judge progress by the student outcomes,” said Gillespie.
Gene Bailey was also appointed to serve on both the RESA-1 Board and the Legislative Committee. Bailey has previous experience on both boards.
“I feel his knowledge will be very valuable,” said Board member Mary Alice Kaufman. -Contact Jeff Fleming at jfleming@ptonline.net.
