OAKVALE — When Richard and Bonnye Renz took over the Four Seasons Antique Mall from previous owners Mike and Anita Eades on Dec.1, 2017 they were not strangers to the business of antiquing.

“We owned an antique store in Miami before moving to West Virginia and came up here during summers. We’d rent a space from Mike Eades during our visits,” Bonnye Renz said.

They are 30-year veterans of the antique business, first going to yard sales then opening up their own antique store.

“We visited the Blenko glass plant at Milton and the Fenton glass plant in Ohio, watched them make their glass and bought some from them. We also liked vintage furniture and glassware, particularly Depression glassware from the early 1900s,” she said.

Four Seasons Antique Mall, located on Harmon Branch Road just off of U.S. Route 460 East, has room for dealers and the Renz’s are looking for more spaces for dealers to bring their wares.

Bonnye said, “Our consignment business has really taken off. Our store has added a lot of antique furniture such as armoires, dining room sets, bedroom sets and dining room chairs, As mentioned before, we are looking for new dealers who must be willing to work and who must have good stuff. We have a lot of different things in here, including Roseville glass which has become very hard to find.”

Richard added, “We love talking to nice people when they come in and enjoy looking at the variety of items that we have.”

Bonnye added, “Things have been very good here. We have things for men and for ladies, outdoor items and unique things. We’re always trying to target old stuff.”

Four Seasons Antique Mall is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. The phone number is 304-898-8369.
