PikeView's Sam Hill garners new honor as Lady Panthers' soccer coach

PRINCETON — The National Federation of High School Coaches Association recently selected Sam Hill for recognition.  From across a broad geographic section encompassing seven states and the District of Columbia, the PikeView coach was named 2012 NFHS Mideast Sectional Coach of the Year for Girls’ Soccer.

Hill received word of his recognition last week. The letter offered congratulations and gratitude for Hill’s contributions to high school athletics.

The honor falls on the heels of another distinction Hill garnered last fall.  He was named NFHS Coach of the Year for Girls’ Soccer by the WV Secondary School Activities Commission (SSAC).

The NFAS Coaches Association is the official national coaches association of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).  Prior to notifying sectional winners, all coaches were considered for national honor within their sport category.

The award only adds icing to the cake for the PikeView women and their coach. They finished their 2012 season as Region 3, Section 2 Champions for the fifth straight year, advancing to state playoffs in November.
