Skating ponds for the enjoyment of the winter weather had been created on the tennis courts that were located directly behind the Municipal Building.
Recreation Director Dan Jackson had reported that the rinks had been made by covering the courts with plastic, building a wooden frame in the shape desired, then filled with water and allowed to freeze.
The hope was that the rinks would be successful and lead to other rinks being created on the basketball court behind the VFW playground on Pine Street and the Kiwanis playground on Washington.
The rink was available to the citizens of Princeton at no charge.
