The Princeton Mercer County Chamber of Commerce met to outline the goals for the upcoming year and to install the newly elected officials in its monthly meeting.
Newly elected president Jeri Hutchins was officially installed along with the rest of the new officers that included: William Sheppard, first vice-president; Calvin Saunders, second vice-president; and Charles Mathena, third vice-president.
The 1978 goals included the establishment of a rental property information service, helping to revive the Princeton Downtown Merchants Association, assisting the city and county in various projects, industrial development, expanding the enterprise educational program, and assisting in the Princeton Senior High School Fire Fund.
Other items suggested by members were workshops on the promotion of tourism in the area, an anti-litter campaign, better relations with the Bluefield Chamber, promoting county-wide zoning issues and better county roads, looking for a new Chamber office, and creating a public relations campaign to educate the public on the function of the Chamber.
