Bluefield College Fine Arts Community School Schedule

PRINCETON — The following classes are available through Bluefield College’s Fine Arts Community School. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee for all classes taken through the Bluefield College Fine Arts Community School. One registration fee per student regardless of the number of classes taken. One day workshops do not require a registration fee. Family discounts are available. • Private music instruction in piano, guitar, violin, voice, and harp is available through the Bluefield College Fine Arts Community School during the Spring Semester. Tuitions vary, and sessions last from five weeks to 10 weeks. For more information, or to sign up call 276-326-4246.

• A Circular Patchwork Quilting class will be held at Bluefield College through the Fine Arts Community School beginning on Feb. 19 and continuing every Tuesday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The class will learn how to turn a square into a circle, back into a square and finally back into a circle. Bring your sewing machines, rotary cutters, pinking shears, pencil, threads, and fabric.

This class is for students ages 12 and up. Tuition is $80. For more information, call 276-326-4246.

• Easter Pottery Workshop is a one-day workshop in conjunction with the Bluefield College Fine Arts Community School to create a ceramic Easter basket and eggs. There are two classes, one will meet on March 2, the other March 9. Both classes will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. No registration fee required, class cost is $35. • There will be a Collage Class for Kids starting Tuesday, March 12, 5:30-6:30 p.m.,  and continuing every Tuesday through April 16. Class is for students ages 6-10. Students will explore collage making through a variety of materials. A materials fee of $5 is due on the first night. Tuition is $75. For more information call 276-4246.

• There will be a Refrigerator Artists class at the Bluefield College Fine Arts Community School on April 23 and continuing every Tuesday for five weeks, 6-7:15 p.m. Sessions will include painting, self-portraits, and an introduction to the great masters. Students should come in paint-friendly clothing. There will be a material fee of $25 due at the first session. This is open to students ages 5-7. Tuition is $65. • There will be a Memoir Writing Workshop beginning April 6 through May 4. The workshop will help participants begin a short memoir and teach writers how to get their memories on paper by crafting stories that makes them enjoyable to the reader. Workshop is geared toward seniors and adults with any level of writing skills. Beginners are welcome. Workshop will meet Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon. Tuition is $75.
