PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library is looking for volunteers. Anyone interested is asked to stop by the library and fill out a volunteer registration form. Or go online to http://princetonlibrarywv.com/ and download a copy and send it to Princeton Public Library, 920 Mercer Street, Princeton, WV 24740.

All volunteer applications will be reviewed and applicants will be contacted is a position is available which matches their interests and skills.

Throughout September, National Library Card Sign-Up Month, Princeton Public Library will host the Coolest Card Competition. Children who visit the library and apply for a new card, obtain a replacement card, or show their current library card during the month will receive a special treat and be counted toward their school’s number of registered library cardholders.

At the end of the month, the school with the largest percentage of its student body that has obtained cards or showed their card at the library will receive a special banner proclaiming them the winners of the 2012 Coolest Card Competition.

For swashbuckling fun and adventure, X marks the spot at the Princeton Public Library! We're celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sept. 19, 3:30-4:30 p.m. with some fun pirate activities. Activities will include: making your own pirate hat and a treasure hunt among the books. Space is limited and registration is required. Call 304-487-5045 or visit our website to register today.

Bring your lunch to the Princeton Public Library on Sept. 20 at noon for the Brown Bag Lunch Review and listen to local author Tom Farmer read from his book “The Cumberland Road Kid.”

The Princeton Public Library is hosting a fashion show based on the fashion principles from the book “Parisian Chic” by French middle-aged model Ines de la Fressange. Come see Fressange’s styling tips brought to life with apparel provided by Belk of Mercer Mall and modeled by gals just like you on Saturday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m.
